Meditate; try it, you’ll like it! Really, give your mind a break today from the constant onslaught of information and disruptions.
Silence your phone for about 10 minutes to start, no special equipment is needed at all. Although meditating on a beach would be ideal, it can be done just about anywhere at anytime. Just get quiet, get comfortable and try it for 10 minutes. Ten minutes during your busy day can make all the difference!
It takes practice to truly get settled and to stop engaging those thoughts that keep popping up, but the rewards are certainly worth it. You may find this video helpful to get started:
Remember, it is a practice. You may have difficulty not thinking about your to do list or bills to be paid. It’s ok that those thoughts are there when you meditate, the trick is not to engage with those thoughts, just let them float on by. Focus on your breathing instead.
