Oh baby it’s cold outside! Now more than ever, it’s important to stretch and breathe life into those cold muscles. Take your time, go slow and gentle in your stretching. Keep yourself flexible, your skin toned and those stretches will naturally warm you up.
Cold weather tends to make us hunch up our shoulders and tighten up all over to protect our body temperature. Then we tend to forget to “let go” and relax when we get warm; we need to give our muscles and connective tissues some space so they can function properly. So stretch, breathe, dance a little, make some funny faces to work out even those little facial muscles that have grimacing in the bitter cold. Have fun with it! Life is short and we should have more fun, don’t you agree?
Focus on that life giving breath as it flows through every cell in your body while you dance around your living room. Think about your breathing as you go about your day; give those lungs a stretch too. Shake your booty, reach for the sky, take a deep breath; love life!
