Tuesdays with Mary, 6/17/14, Surrender to Your Life
There are times in our day to day life, when things happen to give us pause. Consider this, that perhaps it is our destiny guiding us to contemplate a different path than the one we’re on at present. Sometimes we feel like we’re just fighting against the current. It’s in those moments when we should stop and surrender to fact that what we’re doing just might not be working for us.
When I’m out in our garden, I see such lovely plants adapting, turning to reach the sunlight, growing around obstacles to spread out and thrive. They surrender to their present circumstances and find another way to succeed. We humans have such a difficult time dealing with change, uncertainty and life’s obstacles. We resist, complain and use a lot of precious energy fighting the circumstances of our lives rather than surrendering and pondering an alternate way.
Eckhart Tolle (very interesting gentlemen-check him out) says we should live in the moment. All to often, we are thinking, planning about the future (I’m so guilty of this!) and not experiencing the now. You know, stop and smell the roses. So if you feel like your swimming against the current, surrender to that knowledge and see if there are changes you can make. Small steps, especially small steps, can lead to a better life journey for you.
Be well,
Mary
